Tobacco and nicotine are some of the most important factors to consider when it comes to getting pregnant. Trying to conceive comes with many pressures and stress that makes it frustrating all on it's own, without throwing e-cigarettes into the mix.
Dr. Edward Marut of Fertility Centers of Illinois explains that nicotine can impair conception just from inhalation. He further says how it has a direct effect on damaging sperm and eggs.
While e-cigarettes don't have the same known carcinogenic or teratogenic substances, they do have many other chemicals that are most likely unsafe and have an adverse effect on reproduction.
Murat strongly suggests avoiding e-cigarettes if you or your partner are trying to get pregnant. Second hand smoke can also be just as dangerous! Smoking of any kind makes conceiving even more difficult than it already is for some women.
